ABOUT US

Bay Hope Day School is an outreach ministry of Bay Hope Church.  We have served our community since August 1988.  We are one of the largest private and faith-based  preschools in Hillsborough County and the state of Florida serving approximately 300 children each year.  We have been awarded a Gold Seal of Excellence by the National Accreditation Commission (NAC).

Our preschool  program starts at age 2.  We have a total of 7 VPK classrooms and an additional 6 classrooms for 2-year old and 3-year old children, plus an Elementary After School program.  Children are placed in a classroom in August and remain in that classroom until the 10-month school year is completed.

MISSION STATEMENT

“To lead children and families into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by providing quality childcare and preschool services where children receive the love and support they need in order to reach their full potential”

PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT

“Our primary objective is to provide superior Christian education in a nurturing atmosphere embracing the whole child.  We believe that children should learn in a stress-free, safe environment where guided and free expression activities are combined to enhance each child’s spiritual, emotional, social, physical and cognitive development.”

OUR STAFF

We are blessed to have a team of dedicated professionals who have the welfare and best interest of the children as their top priority.  Several of our staff members have been with us for over 10 years.  Bay Hope Day School strives to keep our child:teacher ratios as low as possible with 2 teachers assigned to every classroom.

CURRICULUM OBJECTIVES

All classrooms are center-based and blend child-initiated activities with teacher-directed times.  The daily lessons have been developed to allow children to learn through hands-on experiences.  Children are exposed to the Christian faith through Bible stories, music, and prayer on a daily basis in the classroom.  They attend a weekly chapel with Pastor Matthew or another Associate Pastor from the church on Wednesday mornings.

We firmly believe in the power of play.  Ongoing research confirms that children learn best through play and through making their own choices in the classroom.   We encourage exploration and discovery to help cultivate a love of learning.  Our curriculum follows the natural progress of development for preschool children.
