PART-TIME and full-time preschool & Elementary ASC

The Day School is a faith-based, non-profit preschool program and a ministry of Bay Hope Church. The Day School provides part-time (mornings only) and full-time (all day) preschool for 2, 3 and 4-year-olds as well as an after-school program for 6 area elementary schools for children grades K-5. Part-time and Full-time preschool is available for 2, 3 and 4 year olds including part-time and full-time VPK classes. Our curriculum integrates a faith-based foundation providing spiritual, physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development.

VPK - Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten

VPK is a State-Funded program designed to prepare Florida’s children for kindergarten and develop the skills they need to become successful students. Parents will need to Register with the Day School first then parents will need to apply for State funding for the Day School to receive funding for your VPK student. To apply for VPK funding, please visit www.elchc.org.

Our VPK team of instructors are especially trained to provide an age-appropriate curriculum and pre-kindergarten literacy skills. The VPK school year program consists of 540 instructional hours.  Our state-funded VPK program is Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 12:15 am for part-time students and 9:00 am - 12:00 pm for full-time students.

A MAJOR emphasis of our program is concentrated in getting our 4-year old children ready for Kindergarten by meeting and exceeding VPK Standards.

As the years have progressed with VPK, we are seeing a real need to EXTEND the part-time VPK program to include 1 extra hour of curriculum-driven time.  We highly recommend this program option to give your 4-year old child the benefit of additional small group learning. The state of Florida pays for the first 3.75 hours of each day and parents are responsible for the extra hour from 12:15 pm to 1:15 pm at a low monthly rate. This program will include a parent-provided lunch in their schedule.

FULL-TIME (6:50 am – 6:00 pm)

This program is primarily designed for households where both parents work outside the home and need full-day child care.  Bay Hope Day School not only provides “all-day” care in a nurturing environment, but they also receive the same benefits as children enrolled in our part-time program with a structured learning environment in both the mornings and afternoons after nap.

The hours of the Full-Time program are the hours the center is open and not the recommended time that your child should be here each day.  We encourage parents to keep their child’s day to a maximum of 9-10 hours/day even though the center is open for 11 ½ hours.

We offer a 10-month and 12-month program, based on each family’s need.  Full-day classes are offered for children 2 – 4 years of age.

ELEMENTARY AFTER SCHOOL (2:30 pm – 6:00 pm)

Our Day School Bus transports children in the afternoon from Northwest Elementary, Sun Lake Academy, Schwarzkopf Elementary, Hammond Elementary, and Mother Teresa of Calutta. We provide after-school care for children grades Kindergarten – 5rd grade.  We will also pick-up on EARLY RELEASE Mondays.

Time is set aside each afternoon for homework assignments; playground and sports; and centers that are elementary age-appropriate.  A daily devotion time is an integral part of our  elementary after school program.

Morning care for the Elementary Program is not available on days when public school is in session, however when Hillsborough County Schools are CLOSED, Bay Hope Day School is OPEN on most days for a full-day from 6:45 am – 6:00 pm.  Bay Hope Day School offers a full-day during the summer  for elementary-age children.
